In a military town, lost in the woods, its own life is going. The town is quite well-being, but it has everything - both good and bad. There are suspicions that the major Apraksin "sells" the soldiers to one of the businessmen who are building near his mansion. Captain Bragin on this clue, but doing nothing, just looking for an excuse to talk to Apraksin. Bragin loves his wife Apraksin, and this complicates his relationship with Apraksin.

To the town comes the investigator, leading the case on the theft of the forest on a large scale, illegal logging in the area surrounding the military unit. This is serious, very large scale with a lot of money and dangerous criminal personalities. The investigator asks for help in uncovering the criminal chain, traces of lead into the military town. The wood raw material is exported as a strategic military overhead - who is engaged in the documents is a mystery. Deadly enemies - Apraksin and Bragin - are faced with a choice: to solve their personal problems or to detain criminals. "Whom do we serve? - Asks Bragin. - Fatherland? Or someone else " Service is stronger - the two people enter into a battle with a gang, so begins the" forest war "against a whole gang of two. "War" draws heroes stronger, but the characters cannot escape from the cycle of events that captured them. They are declared a real hunt.
